Over the weekend, final approval was granted to both House Bill 910 which will allow open carry, as well as SB 11 which provides for campus carry at certain institutions of higher education in Texas! As a proud co-author on this legislation, I am excited to send these bills to the Governor’s desk!Governor Abbott, Lt. Governor Patrick, and Speaker Straus announced the terms of the tax relief package for the 84th Legislative Session. This will include a $10,000 increase in the homestead exemption and a 25% permanent reduction in the business Margins tax. I am proud of Texas for working together to provide Texans with tax relief this session.
