Plaza Broadway progress report
Developer Carlos Quintanilla accompanied us on a tour of his soon-to-open shopping mall. This project has been underway for nearly two years. The structure at 3161 Broadway Boulevard has been transformed from a dilapidated and deserted Kmart into a sparkling new shopping option for area residents. It is now nearing completion and Merchants are beginning to move into there are leased spaces. This project is sure to bring new life to the business community located in and around the intersection of Broadway and Centerville Road. Mr. Quintanilla has had to overcome a series of obstacles, including rigorously enforced regulations by the city of Garland.
We have been told that the COG will require a certificate of occupancy for each individual business. If that is accurate, it may be several more weeks before the actual opening of Plaza Broadway.
