This 9 piece band‟s show, “The Golden Era of American Popular Music” spans 1920-1963 standards from greats such as George and Ira Gershwin, Rogers & Hart, Harold Arlen, Cole Porter and more. The Marketplace in the Downtown Square

Come down to Historic Downtown Garland for the Marketplace every 3rd Saturday of the month from April to September. The public is invited to the Downtown Square for growers, produce, vendors and food. This is a great opportunity to support local artisans, craftsman, growers, and merchants. The Marketplace is produced by the Garland Downtown Business Association and Eventive Marketing Solutions and benefits the Good Samaritans of Garland. Join us at the Plaza Theatre as danger holds the reins as the devil cracks the whip! Desperate men! Frontier women! Rising above their pasts in a West corrupted by violence and gun-fire! This 1939 classic is the story of a simple stagecoach trip complicated by the fact that Geronimo is on the warpath in the area. The passengers on the coach include a drunken doctor, two women, a bank manager who has taken off with his client’s money, and the famous Ringo Kid, this is a powerful story of 9 strange people. Presented by the City of Garland, this film is FREE and open to the public. Movie starts at 7 p.m. Popcorn, candy and soda are available for $2. All proceeds from concessions go to the Garland Good Samaritans.
