WingSpan Theatre Company presents “Shoe Confessions”

WINGSPAN THEATRE COMPANY, in cooperation with The Bath House Cultural
Center/The Office of Cultural Affairs, will present a Two Day Staged
Reading of a new play entitled Shoe Confessions – By Cynthia Salzman
Mondell.  This “hot off the presses” new play has been taken under the
wing for development and a workshop Staged Reading.

All you have to do is read fairy tales to see how shoes are used and
thought of to transform oneself.  Cinderella’s glass slipper transported
her out of poverty.  Dorothy, in the classic story The Wizard of Oz,
danced down the yellow brick road in ruby slippers, conquered obstacles,
and with a little help from her friends found her way home. Shoe
Confessions explores the intimate relationships between women and their
shoes.  A culturally diverse ensemble of women unfold their unique and
impactful journeys in their shoes. Shoes are more than just a fashion
statement; they evoke memories and the chapters of a woman’s life from
first steps to last steps.

Cynthia Salzman Mondell is an independent documentary filmmaker, who is
committed to projects that she feels have something to say about the
world she lives in. Cynthia teamed up with Allen Mondell to form Media
Projects, Inc.  Together, they have created over thirty five social
issue documentary films and educational videos (see:
