Garland Symphony Orchestra continues its 2015-2016 “Symphonic Treasures!” on December 18, 2015 at 8:00PM at the Granville Arts Center, Brownlee Auditorium, Garland, TX. This concert features holiday favorites from the GSO along with our annual Holiday Sing-Along. This concert features baritone, Theodor Carlson.
Our season with the Garland Symphony Orchestra will explore masterpieces inspired by visions of riches. From Auber’s Overture to The Crown Diamonds to Lehar’s Gold and Silver Waltz, it promises to be a glittering array of musical treasures. Along the way, the LCSO’s ninety-three sparkling musicians will bring you music from Shostakovich’s Age of Gold Suite, Wolf-Ferrari’s Jewels of the Madonna, Wagner’s The Rheingold, and many more symphonic gems.
Garland Symphony Orchestra credits its Music Director, Robert Carter Austin for its continued outstanding and diverse orchestral programming. Maestro Austin’s background encompasses over 30 years of professional music experience and includes degrees from MIT, Cambridge University, and Stanford University. Maestro Austin’s musical experience includes conducting performances in countries including: Korea, Ukraine, Canada, Italy, Spain, China, France, Germany, Mexico,
Bulgaria, Ecuador, Colombia, Philippines, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and the United States.
