Through August 15  “Into the Woods” by Garland Civic Theatre

The Brothers Grimm hit the stage with an epic fairytale about wishes, family and the choices we make. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone’s favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless yet relevant piece and rare modern classic. The production will run Fridays and Saturdays, July 24–August 15, 2015 at 8 p.m. with Sunday performances on July 26 and August 2 at 2:30 p.m. There is a Thursday performance on July 23, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale July 1st, and cost $22-$27 with group rates available.

August 1-2   “Dr. Dolittle, Jr.” by C.O.R.P.

Plaza Theatre

This musical tells the tale of a wacky but kind doctor who can talk to animals, taking the audience on a journey from a small, English village to the far corners of the world. When Doctor Dolittle attempts to help a seal named Sophie, he’s wrongly accused of murder and stands trial. August 8-9    “My Story, Your Life…” by KJ Productions

Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones she has a profound effect upon. This AIM for SEVA benefit performance presents a vibrant journey of Rasa and Bhava in the outstanding dance drama “Sundra Kandam – The Signet of Hope.” The All India Movement (AIM) for SEVA (Service) was established in the year 2000 as a charity to enable children in rural India to access education through an innovative concept called Free Student Home (FSH).  Spread across 100 locations in 15 states of India, these Free Student Homes provide children with free education in a neighborhood school along with boarding, lodging, health care, and after-school coaching and extra-curricular activities. September 3-26, 2015 will bring Agatha Christie’s “Spider’s Web.” Clarissa, the second wife of Henry Hailsham Brown, is adept at spinning tales of adventure for their bored diplomatic circle. When a murder takes place in her drawing room, she finds live drama much harder with which to cope. September 12   “Vertigo” 7 p.m.
