Pink Fire Trucks

You may have thought you were seeing a Mary Kay fire truck, or a Barbie vehicle on steriods at Firewheel Mall on Friday, October 9th. In fact, you were seeing firefighters’ acknowledgement of Cancer Awareness Month. It all began in Florida and those pink trucks are now traveling across the U.S.A.

When they made their stop in Garland they were joined by or local firefighters in a show of support. We were pleased to note that our Garland Firefighters had not changed the traditional color of their trucks but have opted to wear their pink T shirts instead.

David Riggs, President of the Garland Firefighters Association, assured us that our firefighting apparatus will not be changing color anytime soon!  We found that announcement to be very comforting.
