Educational T Shirts

The Garland Rowlett Messenger will be awarding a free Garland T shirt to the winners of their Cutest Dog Photo Contest. The winners will be posted on the GRM Facebook page each Friday in the month of December. A new T shirt created by RockInk Inc., is designed to educate the local citizenry on the origin of the name of their city. Augustus H. Garland’s name was given to the area’s new post office and Garland himself was the U.S. Attorney General.  He probably never set foot in the Great State of Texas. The City of Garland was established in 1891, as noted on the T-shirt. Proceeds from the  sale of this T-shirt will be donated to Preservation Garland.

Augustus H. Garland was US Attorney General. He was a highly respected attorney who died while presenting a cse before the Supreme Court.
