Garland Symphony Orchestra’s Concert IV
JANUARY 2016 - Jin Hyoun Baek, guest conductorGarland, Texas, December 29, 2015 — Garland Symphony Orchestra continues its 2015-2016 “Symphonic Treasures!” season with Concert IV on January 15, 2016, 8:00 p.m. at the Granville Arts Center in Garland, Texas.  This concert features D/FW clarinetist and SMU Alum, Brent Buemi, performing Copland’s “Clarinet Concerto.”  This concert also features Guest Conductor, Jin Hyoun Baek of Korea.
Brent Buemi graduated with a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance at Southern Methodist University in 2010. He received a Bachelor of Music degree in Clarinet Performance at Southern Methodist University, studying with Paul Garner, Associate Principal and Solo Eb Clarinet of the Dallas Symphony. Brent grew up in Duncanville, Texas, and began his studies with Jeff Garcia. He is the Second Clarinetist of the Las Colinas Symphony. He maintains a private studio, freelances in the D/FW area, and plays in several groups, including: Open Classical, Savoy Swing Jazz, and with solo artists Cameron Matthew Ray, Matthew Gray and the Arrogant Sea.
The Garland Symphony Orchestra will be joined by Guest Conductor, Jin Hyoun Baek.  Maestro Baek is the Artistic Director of the Masan Philharmonic Orchestra in Korea.  He is also a Professor of Graduate School at Dongsco University, Founder and Conductor of Busan Festival Orchestra as well as the Busan Orchestra.  He has appeared as Guest Conductor for China’s Tianjin Symphony Orchestra.  He has also conducted such prestigious orchestras as the Korean Symphony Orchestra, Kimhae Philharmonic Orchestra, Buan Sinfonietta, Chungnam Sinfonietta and Pohang Philharmonic Orchestra.  Maestro Baek has conducted throughout Europe with such orchestras as the Russia Moscow Sinfonietta, the Italian Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, and the North Shore Symphony in the United States.
