New Main Street Biz

art2Trims & Treasures has just recently opened at 613 Main Street in downtown Garland. Hairdressing services and antique sales seem an unlikely combination, but like chicken and waffles, this combo seems to be working.
Sheila Ellenberg serves her clients and business partner Johnny Gee uses the spaces formerly occupied by hair stylists to display his very tasteful and interesting collection of antiques. Each of the several partitioned off spaces features a vignette of affordably priced vintage home decor items. Johnny also has children’s antique items, such as chairs, toys and a very fetching dollhouse, just waiting to make a lucky little girl’s dreams come true.
Art1Sheila’s work station is just where it was when the space was leased to Lemmond’s Hair Cutters. Harvey Lemmond purchased a much larger building down the street and he and the rest of the Lemmond’s stylists have moved on. Sheila, however, decided to stay in her station and took Johnny in as a partner. Johnny Gee has been in the antique business for many years and says he’s enjoying this new venture.  Sheila’s clients are sure to enjoy the opportunity to browse while waiting for their trims and Johnny’s customers can sit down for a quick sprucing up after their treasure hunts.  This new business is off to a good start and we wish them continued success.
