Rowlett Chamber of Commerce March Business of the Month
It is with great pleasure that the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce Award OPA’s Greek Taverna as the Business of the Month for March.
Opa! Greek Taverna is a little bit of Greece in Rowlett, TX. Opening day for Opa! Greek Taverna was May 20, 2013. Our owner, Kostas Lazanas, worked as a server and manager at local Greek restaurants. He saved up for several years to fulfill his dream of opening his very own Greek restaurant, and was excited for the day that dream came true. Kostas’ father grew up in Derveni, Greece, a coastal town overlooking the beautiful blue waters of the Gulf of Corinth.
Many of the dishes at Opa! Greek Taverna are inspired by the culinary creations of Kostas’ Yia Yia (grandmother). Just inside the doors of Opa, you can find a picture of her cooking in her traditional Greek kitchen. A member of the Rowlett Chamber of Commerce, and host to Thursday Mornings Make a Connection, Opa! Greek Taverna is a happy addition to the diversity of Rowlett dining. Situated near the intersection of Lakeview Parkway (66) and Rowlett Rd., Opa provides authentic Greek cuisine and a full bar seven days a week. Take-out and catering are also available.
