The Color-Up Run Results in Green for GSM

Kendra Walden, Financial Advisor

The Color Up 5k race through downtown Garland on September 13 began and ended at the Atrium at the Granville Arts Center. Runners were instructed to wear white and 1,053 showed up ready to go. Along the route, they were powdered with colored corn starch tossed out by volunteers lining the trail.

This was a great people-watching event, as dozens of participants wore weird costumes and crazy wigs. A DJ was blasting music and a colorful celebration took place out on the lawn at the Granville Arts Center at the end of the trail. The crazy, silly and very colorful Color Up 5k fundraiser resulted in a $5,000 donation to Garland Summer Musicals.
