Labor Day Parade Set for New Route
On Labor Day September 1, 2014, the 69th annual Labor Day Parade will take place under the auspices of the Garland Noon Exchange Club. Marchers will be taking a new route this year and will no longer be terminating the parade at central park. This year the parade will proceed from Williams Stadium on Glenbrook to State Street where it will turn right to Tenth, over to Main and down main to Fifth Street. Paraders will then take Fifth to Walnut over to Glenbrook and back to Williams Stadium.
Following the parade, which steps off at 9am, there will be an event on the historic downtown square. The event will include vendors, a chili cook off, children’s area with bounce house and face painting, a classic car show, and live entertainment in the air conditioned Plaza Theatre. Come on down and join the fun!
