Super New Entertainment Destination in Garland

Spectacular is the only way to describe Strike + Reel entertainment complex. This huge entertainment center is all under one enormous roof. The Garland Chamber of Commerce did a ribbon cutting, and it’s now officially open. When we first walked through the front door we commented that it felt like a Las Vegas casino. Maybe that was just the carpeting and the buzz of all the electronics coming from the arcade on our right. Just ahead and beyond the arcade is the bowling alley with 22 lanes. Up to 8 bowlers per lane at $20 per hour. Shoes for adults and children available for rent. Further to the right of the wide center aisle are the bumper cars, ropes course, rock climbing wall and laser tag locations.

To the left of the center aisle, and bordering the aisle, is the full service beverage bar. Also on the left and nearest to the doors are the dining facilities. Just beyond the food service area are the 10 Cinemark theaters. The theaters have state-of-the-art reclining seats with heaters and food and beverage service is available. There is a $5 special for movies on Tuesdays. You will be asked to choose your seat location when you purchase your tickets for the movie of your choice. Similar to Dave & Busters, you will need a power card to play arcade games. Cash (credit and debit6 cards are accepted of course) purchases can be made in the bowling alley, movie theaters, and the bar and restaurant. Plenty of free parking on the outside.

Strike + Reel is located on the Pres. George Bush Hwy (190) at the Holford exit. It faces the 190 service road, and you can enter the parking lot from Holford Road. Right now it is sitting out there alone, but we are hoping to see more entertainment options and eating and dining options pop up around it. Strike + Reel offers Garland citizens an opportunity to keep sales tax revenues from entertainment inside our city for benefit to all.

As we toured this fabulous facility, one of our group, the parent of elementary school students, commented that she would visit the arcade area with her fourth grader. Her younger children could go into one of the theatres to watch “Doolittle” with dad.

As the oldest member of our trio, I had already determined it was dinner and a movie for me. There is a VIP area that contains eight of the 22 bowling lanes and 2 party or meeting rooms. An adult birthday or anniversary party that included bowling would be a lot of fun. This area would also be great for corporate events.

The third and last member of our touring group, a 19 year old, said she would spend time at the bumper cars, ropes course and arcade with friends.

Strike + Reel is also prepared to accommodate fundraising events for local non-profits. There are also special pricing packaging for birthday parties and other group attended events. For details go online to their website: https://www.strikeandreel.com
