Grand Opening Rosalind Coffee Company

The Grand Opening of the Rosalind Coffee Company was a family affair. The under 12 population was well represented at the celebration on Friday, April 7 in downtown Garland. The coffee shop at 107 Sixth Street was formerly known as the Generator Coffee House. New Owners are partners Dee Taylor and Dave Nordyke.

The store was packed with family and friends of the new owners and fans of Castro, a group based in nearby Rockwall. Their lead singer is Jason Castro, an American idol finalist of the show’s 2008 season. Jason announced to all assembled that he recently celebrated his 30th birthday. After years of performing as a soloist, he has teamed up with siblings Michael and Jackie. The trio performed for about an hour to a very appreciative audience. Jason’s two little girls kept time and sang right along with their daddy, uncle and aunti. They sat in the front row with their mom and never missed a beat or a lyric. From all outward appearances another generation of Castro’s will be entertaining future audiences.

The new owners plan to have local musicians performing on stage, which has now been moved to the middle of the store. New owner Dee Taylor took the stage to announce there would be a “Latte smack down” later in the evening. He also invited us to shop the “Merch” now on display in the counter area. We wish these new investors in Downtown Garland well in their attempt to bring us a “New Vibe”.
